A young beautiful girl was sitting in a cafe and waiting for a hot coffee. I was sitting at the table opposite, but I was looking not straight, but askance, at her reflection in the cafe window. Having captured her image in my notebook and memory, I hurried to the studio to transfer it to the canvas. What was my surprise when the brush did not obey my hands and thoughts, but depicted an evil elderly woman in the picture. The gentle image of a girl and a warm cozy cafe were replaced by a tense atmosphere and a face full of torment.
This is the first dark and possibly unkind entity that broke out on the canvas, before that others were bright and kind.
